Methodology

How we calculate your emissions.

Every number in Climatise is traceable. We follow the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, apply DEFRA, IEA, and SWC MRIO emission factors, and show the working behind every calculation.

S1

Scope 1 — Direct Emissions

Emissions from sources owned or controlled by your organisation: fuel combustion, company vehicles, refrigerant leaks, and industrial processes.

Stationary Combustion

Boilers, furnaces, generators, and on-site heating systems.

Mobile Combustion

Company vehicles, forklifts, and construction equipment.

Fugitive Emissions

Refrigerant leaks from HVAC and cooling systems.

Process Emissions

Industrial chemical and physical transformations.

S2

Scope 2 — Purchased Energy

Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling. Reported using both location-based and market-based methods.

Purchased Electricity

Grid electricity — location-based and market-based methods.

Purchased Heating

District heating, steam, and hot water.

Purchased Cooling

District cooling and chilled water systems.

Market vs Location-Based

The two required Scope 2 reporting methods explained.

S3

Scope 3 — Value Chain Emissions

All other indirect emissions across your value chain. 15 categories covering upstream procurement, logistics, travel, waste, and downstream product use.
